Hey All,

I hope you and yours are safe in these difficult times. 

Our manufacturing partner is busy making masks and other COVID-related gear. They are still willing to do this project when things calm down, but getting things like this made right now is subject to un-affordable prices, so we are waiting until this crisis is more under control. The funds I have collected from you are in a special account, and will not be touched until manufacturing begins.

Another COVID update • Degenderator delayed

Hi Friends!

I hope everyone is staying safe in this strange and scary times. I am now under a shelter-in-place order until April 7th, as is the entire Bay Area. I am using it as an opportunity to phone bank and get better at cooking and catch up on reading.

It is unlikely to surprise you that The Degenderator is behind schedule. Our project with its small quantities is a low priority for our manufacturer and their partners, as they scramble to recover from this crisis by fulfilling larger orders first. It is very hard to give an updated timeline at this time, but I estimate things are about 5 months behind schedule and shipping is unlikely before September or October. 

If anyone is in a tight spot financially due to COVID or wants a refund for any other reason, email me at [email protected] and I will issue you a refund no questions asked. 

I am committed to getting this project done, but the world is currently upside down, inside out, and backwards.

My friends Danielle and Max have developed a project called QuarantineChat that will connect you with other folks under isolation. 

If you are able, please contribute to mutual aid funds for those who will inevitable fall thru the cracks of means-tested government aid programs, such as making financial contributions to your local food bank, or giving to campaigns such as this umbrella GoFundMe.

Hi All!

Production begins soon!

I am very excited to announce that I have submitted final designs to the factory and that production will begin soon after the Chinese New Year season is over. Minor tweaks were made to the mechanism and there were a few errors in the braille on the sign, but it is all fixed now!

Delivery to backers remains on track for April 2020.

It has truly been amazing watching support pour in from all over the world. 250 people from 13 nations all think that bathrooms can be better, and that we can make it happen! Yesterday there was a New York Times article about the bathroom reform movement. We are winning!

I am going to finalize orders to the factory in the next few weeks, and I will post updates as we go.
